CNY: Usher into the New Year with A Special Reunion Dinner @ Lai Ching Yuen, Grand Millenium Hotel

Start the year right and usher into the Chinese New Year 2018 with a festive reunion dinner at Lai Ching Yuen, Grand Millenium Hotel. This beautifully decorated Chinese restaurant is located on the first floor of the hotel.

Led by Chef Terrence Foong, the Chinese New Year Dinner Menu is complete with a delicious 9-course dinner that is guaranteed to tantalize your tastebuds!

Yee Sang with White Fish Baits

The Yee Sang is often the most important dish in a reunion dinner. Here at Lai Ching Yuen, they serve the Yee Sang with white fish baits which have an added crunch to this auspicious CNY dish.

Double Boiled Shark's Fin Soup with Crabmeat & Assorted Seafood

This is always my favourite dish in a Chinese New Year meal. Such a generous portion of crabmeat and seafood.

Wok Fried Prawns with Spicy Sauce

The prawns were huge in size and they were absolutely succulent! In fact, the spicy sauce was so tasty, I ate it with the mantao that was served alongside the prawns.

Steamed Live Cat Fish with Minced Ginger

Topped with minced ginger and served with premium soya sauce, this steamed fish is a simple and delicious dish. I could taste the freshness of the fish and how sweet the meat was.

This type of fish is not commonly found in Chinese restaurants, but I was impressed that they managed to cook it to perfection here at Lai Ching Yuen. It didn't have a muddy aftertaste to it.

Roasted 'Pi Pa' Style Crispy Chicken with Prawn Crackers

Very flavorful and juicy! The chicken is roasted till golden brown and I find that the skin is crispy, just the way it should be. Dip the chicken in some sea salt to enhance its flavour!

Stir Fried Hong Kong Kailan with Enoki Mushroom

Fried Rice with Assorted Chinese Waxed Meat, Wrapped in Lotus Leaf

The rice dish is always one of the last, for you to fill your tummy, just in case you're not full.
There is bite sized Chinese sausages and waxed meat in this special rice dish, wrapped in lotus leaf.

Nian Gao

I love this nian gao (sticky rice cake), it wasn't too gooey as the ones I find outside. Both sweet potato and yam are stuffed between the rice cake and deep fried till golden brown.

It wasn't too sweet or oily, a perfect dessert and sweet ending to a meal.

Double Boiled White Fungus with Longan & Sea Coconut

Diners can feast on a sumptuous dinner starting from RM 1,988.00 nett per table of 10. Celebrate a Year of Abundance with Lai Ching Yuen! For more information, call 03-2117 4888 to book a table or to enquire further.
