Food: Haru Japanese Bakery Cafe @ IKON Connaught, Cheras

Fancy some buns and coffee? If you're feeling a little Japanese as well, there's a new cafe in town and the best part is, it's within a mall. Let me introduce you to Haru Japanese Bakery Cafe @ IKON Connaught, Cheras.

Love the simple yet chic layout and design of this cafe.

Since this place is a self service cafe, you may place your order at this pretty counter. Check out the today specials as well while you're there!

BUNS & BREADS

Cranberry Cheese (RM 3.60)
This one is a signature here and a definite must try. Soft and fluffy on the inside, I enjoyed this very much as it wasn't sweet as well.

Japanese Curry Onigiri (RM 3.40)
This one is a special and unique creation and infused with some Japanese ingredients. As you can see, there are some toppings such as bonito flakes, mayonnaise and seaweed on top of the bun.

Butter Croissant (RM 3.80)
I'm always picky with my croissants because I can proudly say that I've tried more croissants than anyone else. I'm your ultimate croissant lover and this didn't disappoint at all. It was light, not extremely buttery and was flaky crispy on the outside.

Caramelised Apple Bun (RM 3.40)
This may give the impression that its a savoury type of bun. But, in fact this had apple fillings which were pre-cooked with caramelised sugar and raisins.

Spring Lady (RM 3.80)
Loaded with spring onions, cheese, mayonnaise and ham, this one is a must try as well!

Mini Pizza (RM 5.90)
The fillings of this are tomatoes, sausages, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and topped with a sliced cheese. This is definitely my favourite item from the buns which I've tried.

The flour they use to make their buns and breads here are all imported from Japan. It is of higher quality and has a softer as well as smoother texture. This special wheat flour doesn't contain any preservatives or colouring too,

MAIN MENU

Heavy Duty Pack (RM 28.00)

This is an ideal platter for sharing as it comes with 1 chicken, 1 fish, 1 sausage, 1 shrimp, 1 egg and 1 bowl of Japanese calrose rice. Value for money and tasty especially if you enjoy deep fried items!

Haru Omelette Brekkie (RM 13.80)
If you're bored of the usual American breakfast, give this a try! Made out of three different cheeses; mozzarella, cheddar and emental, this had loads of mushroom wrapped in an omelette.

Carbonara Spaghetti (RM 14.80)
This is your usual carbonara with a more eggy twist to it as they've added a whole raw egg yolk on top. If you're one who loves cream carbonara, I'd recommend that you try this.

White Angel Seafood Alfredo RM 16.80)
Honestly, the dill cream sauce was quite bland and I had to add lots of cheese powder to break even.

HARU TOAST

Go Banana RM 15.50)
I absolutely love this! Buttery toast topped with the prized chantilly cream (cream beat with sugar), vanilla ice cream plus some banana and chocolate sauce. A perfect dessert after a meal! Their toast is so pretty that you wouldn't want to eat it :)

Mary Berry RM 18.50)
Topped with mixed berries, chantilly cream, vanilla ice cream plus some sweet mixed berries and raspberry sauce, this toast is delectable!

I'm a die hard fan of berries, so I really enjoyed this one and I'd recommend that you guys try this out at least once. It may be pretty sinful, but its worth it trust me!
